No, not really, but liberals and tree-huggers really dont like guns and socialists think we should not own them in fear of having less power over its citizens

I was a self employed electrical contractor for a number of years. My business location was wherever I was. i.e. if I was in your home installing a ceiling fan THAT was my business location. I did not have a storefront location my entire business travelled with me in my truck. It seemed to me that I should be able to carry wherever I went because that was where my business was.

From a practical standpoint, if you are carrying a loaded sidearm in your vehicle without a carry license that permits this, you are going to get locked up, regardless of what the Court of Appeals does later (because the Circuit Court WILL find you guilty). Consider whether or not you are willing to endure these consequences, both physical and financial, before you enter these gray areas. From an ethical standpoint, it is reprehensible that one is required to choose between self defense and these consequences, but that is not going to keep you out of jail in this state.

The funny thing about carry as a military member is that (at least in the air force) you are not allowed to bring any personally owned firearm on base except for specifically approved reason. If i were going to bring my own gun to the shooting team practice after normal duty hours I would have to have a letter signed by the commander.

My company commander allows me to carry due to my views on the subject. He also has encouraged and allows others to do the same, I have been trying to get them involved in the MSI thing but havnt gotten much of a following

I <3 Pennsylvania. Just reading this thread gave me a headache. Glad I left MD.

That same day I has disassembled about 50 round of Speer 38 caliber JHP rounds that had at least 1 double charge... so I had to take them all apart. Which I did behind the place I worked in the parking lot where I could use a inertial bullet puller and make the noise. So they search my car, and in NJ, hollow points are illegal WHEN USED IN COMMISSION OF A CRIME (aka firearm related crime, such as armed robbery, etc.), and, of course, they find the DISASSEMBLED rounds (bullets and casings). The officer tells me that the "cop killer bullets" I've got are illegal, and he's going to charge with the class II felony [i.e. 6 year maximum prison sentence]. Now, mind, you, these are not even live rounds anymore... just bullets and casings, I threw the powder in the bushes. ...and I've seen alot of other officers that don't know the statues over the years as well. Of course, there is also the reality that no one can know every law, but the common ones there is really no excuse for not knowing. [I got off completely, as I hadn't committed a crime, and there was no probable cause to pull me over to begin with... but it was scary.] |
