Question on timing for paperwork

Just turned 31 on Monday. Went to Barts in Glen Burnie and put money down on an AR-15. When I got in the car the wife scolded me for only putting 50% down and made me go pay for it (Yeah, still trying to figure out if I should be mad at her for scolding me or not....). Anyway:

I filled out the paperwork, finalized payment held it for a few minutes then watched them put it in the box. The guy behind the counter told me to come back in 2 weeks... 2 weeks really? It was 7 days when I bought my 1911 only a few months ago, did something change or is this just Barts policy? anyone?

On a side note the guys at Barts were extremely helpful. The first gun they showed me was a used Bushmaster for $995 (before the 10% discount). The tag stated .223 but we realized after filling out the paperwork that it was actually a 6.8mm. :-( they pulled another bushmaster down, this one brand new and the price was $1195. The other guy there looked at it and said, it was our fault so give it to him for $995. I figured bonus, got a brand new AR-15 for the same price as the used one. Anyhow, ended up spending 2 hours talking to the guys in there and had an overall great experience.

I know the price was probably high for a bushmaster (finding them online for around 700-800. but Its local, and I only have to wait 2 weeks before it comes home.

The 2 week waiting period allows all the Sporting Goods Employees to take your rifle to the range and blow 1K rounds off before you take it home. This is normal.....bull crap!!! 8 days....call them, speak to a manager and ask them WTF

2 weeks. Yep, they are smoking crack. Probably think the font is too big as well.

At that price they should be very helpful. Very, very helpful.

Fitting day to be going to the shop to pick up. Called em yesterday and they said pick it up today. Figured the 2 weeks was a bit much to wait.

1150 for a Bushy is a bit out there. The 995 is more then my normal price for a M4 patrolman carbine

May be the most expensive I bought, but won't be the last. I'll keep you in mind for next time. Still in need of a .308.

Two weeks used to be a quick turnaround. In days of snail mail. 3-4 weeks used to be common when MSP was backed up.
