UPDATE ------

We are looking at the Largo, Md area and probably sometime in April. This is still very much in the air. Do you guys think that April is enough time to clear your schedules for a day?

That will work for me. Might even get my wife to come.

I'm somewhat interested, as I haven't decided if Florida/Utah is the way to go for me. I don't fly, but have some family in Florida, and might be buying land in WV.

I'm still working on it. Trying to nail down a time/place.

As for the possible Utah legislation..........good news. The original bill has been substituted. It still permits us "out of state" instructors to offer the class. There are just tighter monitoring restrictions being proposed. We're good to go!

I'm in after having done some research. Florida permits cost something like $117 and are good for 7 years. Utah permits cost $65 + ~$80 in training, however Florida renewal is ~$100 while Utah renewal is $10.

How long is the Utah permit valid? Even if it were only one year (which I know it isn't), it's still a better value than the Florida permit.

The Utah permit is valid for 5 years.

Update - The Bass Pro Store in Arundal Mills is unable to accomodate a class the size that we will have.

I've contacted one hotel and their room rental rate was unreal. A second hotel location has yet to return my call. Guess their ecomomy is doing just fine and they dont need our business.

I'm open to location ideas if anyone has a suggestion.

Jim

Roughly how many people are we talking? I might have a few decent, size dependent, ideas.

I'd like to see a room that could handle 60-80, classroom style

I'd suggest area colleges and universities, especially non-profit institutions. Maybe even a VFW hall or something of that ilk. I'd think both of those types of places would be willing to cut a deal in this economy.

Proshooter,

I plan to attend if I can, as indicated earlier. I realize that you can only go by what people are telling you on this thread, but I would bet that realistically at least half of the people won't make it when the time comes. I'm guessing you will not need as much space as you might think.
