I'm feeling underwhelmed for such a build up. Not much follow through, IMO. Unless price point is relatively low, I think the compact is good enough.

A 3" single stack M&P, looks awesome, should give the current crop of little 9s a run for their money provided there is a flush mag for it, and they are plentiful when it is released.

My exact feelings. Now that I see the entire gun it does look nice. Hopefully this was just a scaled down M&P and not a full redesign.

I'm not a fan of the thumb safety either, but on the full size models they are very easy to remove. Features like an internal lock and thumb safety were designed to be easy to add or remove without any real modifications. The M&P lockwork is good and proven, they are also easy to improve with some work or Apex parts, hopefully the new shield has the same small FCG parts just in a new housing.

Hmmm. The video says the trigger has been redesigned to provide both an audible and tactile reset. I'd expect that redesign to be applied to other guns in the M&P auto line.
