I know LWRC is considered the best piston driven AR out there, but what are the thoughts about the ruger SR-556? Have these had any issues with carrier tilt that hasnt been resolved? would the PWS buffer tube be a good addon to this rifle? If they have carrier tilt, will ruger fix them?

Every Ruger 556 I have seen has carrier tilt. Ruger also uses unshrouded BCG's too.

To improve it to be on par with LWRC you would have to replace the Bolt Carrier with something compatible (Not sure if its possible?), add a PWS tube, Rounded Hammer, better Buffer, then its a "maybe" IMO.

Probably pay more to upgrade a 556 than buying a LWRC.

Adding my experiences with my piston driven AR.

I have a Stag 8L with about 500 rounds through it. No signs of carrier tilt.

Haven't upgraded anything other than getting a POF cam roller pin. My upper receiver was showing some wear, but I attribute that to normal usage. Machined parts rubbing on each other will show wear etc.

LWRC hands down from what I've seen.

The SIG 556s are cool, I'm definitely considering buying a pistol to SBR down the road.
