They keep bringing this bill up time and time again. So at the extreme of this bill is if you have anti-hunting neighbors, theoretically they could use this bill to say that you can't hunt on your own property if it is within 150 ft of their dwelling?

Current law is 150 Yards not feet and yes it does happen all the time. I believe if the distance is reduced to 50 yards than shooting from an elevated platform should also be required. I've had arrows deflect off branches go farther than 50.

I know this is an old thread, but I recently found that I am unable to hunt some prime properties because of a few anti-hunting neighbors in AA county.

Coming from PA, the 50 yard safety zone during archery was a statewide rule, but I am bummed that only Frederick county allows this in MD.

Have any of our delegates tried to help us out with this lately? Even only allowing this in the suburban archery zone would be a big help considering the idea behind the zone, it would likely open up more areas to take advantage of the suburban archery zone.

What's the best approach for this? Writing letters? Anyone else on-board?

This interests me also. Wish it was state wide. So far I have not had any problems with the neighbors, but they technically could put the brakes on my backyard hunting.

Sounds good, will get in touch with him...

Is anyone aware of this being aproached in other counties in the past?
