its still a bit of a work in progress, but at the moment it is functional. I am thinking of cutting the forend shorter and bluing the metal...thoughts?

1/4 a pound of lead + 1/4 pound of powder= a half pound of recoil right? I can handle that;)

If you can hit a deer with it using indirect fire..:party29:

Hm, understanding the hunting regulations, you can use buckshot in some counties but only a single projectile in most......

.... cal. 4 lead ball :innocent0 Now that definately counts as artillery. Either the ball or the shooter are going to take off ballistically.

Nice piece. I think with all the smoke it could at least have been a cap lock. I'm not sure I would be willing to wait for the thing to go off being a flint lock. Should be fun!!! :D

my uncle used to have something that looked like that mounted on the front of a flat bottom skiff. It was a left over from the market hunting days on the eastern shore. I never actually saw it work. But he said on the ice the boat would slide back about 3 or 4 feet.
