Once again, the Washington Times gets it right on guns...

EDITORIAL: An anti-pirate policy that works [i.e., having armed guards on the Maersk Alabama prevented it from being hijacked a second time].

Conclusion:
"Gun-control proponents keep claiming that banning guns will make people safer, but we suspect that as more ships are armed, fewer will be attacked. What gun controllers refuse to admit is that gun-free zones are a magnet for criminals, terrorists and even pirates."

Alas, like most newspapers, the Washington Times is struggling to remain viable in an increasingly online world. It's laying off personnel today and may cease publication in 60 days. That's a real shame. It was one of the few newspapers that reliably supported the Second Amendment, and pointed out the illogical claims of the gun control crowd. Supposedly, it will continue its Web operations, but that just doesn't carry the same weight (no pun intended) as a print paper.

After googling a lot I couldn't find anything but I remember most of the gun shows I've gone to had these awesome wooden crates that surplus guns (Mosins mostly) come packed in. Seeing as you deal with surplus weapons I was wondering what you do with those crates and if you had any for sale.

I searched the messages and found the thread about magazines, and the email from AAG Bowen. I called him, and confirmed that this was his email and opinion, and that the opinion remained unchanged.

Our problem is that the AG can't give opinions to ordinary people. The only way we can get a nice pdf letter we can put in the range bag is for one of our state representatives to ask. So, I will have to walk down the hall and make my request...

Or would I need to completely replace the front sight?

Obviously any Bubba'd fix would lack the retainer pin, but I figure I could Loctite the attachment on if needed.

Are there any gunsmiths in the Baltimore area who could do this for me? The only one I've gone to is Scott's, certainly wouldn't mind taking them there but open to other options...

Do you do trigger jobs on the XDm9mm and if so, do you modify the stocker or do you drop in someone elses like PRP or Springer?

Thanks!

"The CMP has been successful in acquiring another large quantity of HXP .30-06 ammo. We expect delivery in Jan 2010 and should have the ammo ready for sale by Feb or Mar. Until we actually receive and inspect the ammo, we will not know what packaging configurations will be available, but expect them to be the same as we have had for the past few years. We do not yet know what our final cost will be. We do know that the quantity is large enough to satisfy our customer needs for several years. We will not accept any pre-orders or establish a waiting list. Thanks for your support and patience."
