So I know I'm not the only one with weapons that eat ye olde Warsaw Pact ammo in Montgomery County and I'm wondering where others pick up their Makarov and 7.62 x 39. As far as I can tell, Dick's doesn't have any visible on the shelves (note that even with glasses, my eyesight isn't so hot) so I'm wondering if it's going to just be either online shopping or Atlantic Guns for plinking ammo.

No 7.62x39? It's a pretty popular deer cartridge in some parts, that's surprising.
Makarov.... White Marsh Arms in Reisterstown sells 9x18mm, but that's a loooong way away for you, unless you catch them at a show.

It has been 6 years since i lived in Laurel but i used to buy 7.62 x 39 from a store called "The Gun Rack" located at the intersection of RT 198 and 29 in burtonsville. I have to assume that most if not all gun stores do carry 7.62 x 39.

never looked for makarov but Atlantic in rockville had 500 round bundles of golden tiger 7.62x39 as of last week for 129.00 about what you would pay mail order after shipping. The guy that sold it to me indicated they had nicer stuff too but i was in the market for cheep stuff. Also thanks for saving me a trip to dicks.
as a note I have not made it to a range to test this ammo so...

The big Dulles show is coming up soon, that would be the best bet, and not too much of a hike. 9/12, 13th and 14thhttp://www.showmasters.us/. Hell, I normally take the drive to there from PA, or Westminster, and make a day trip out of it. If you have time, the new smithsonian air and space museum i right around the corner, and is a must see

+1, I got a thousand rounds of golden tiger for that price at the dullus show back in February. What also sucks is that he cannot have ammo shipped to him because he lives in Montgomery county.

I've never had problems getting ammo shipped to me either. I've ordered from Cheaper Than Dirt, Midway, and Ammunitiontogo and all shipped it fine.

I've had no problem ordering ammo from AIM Surplus, Cabela's, and ammoman.com despite being a MoCo resident.
