I want to turn my Spikes zombie lower into a DMR/SPR and thought that was a good price to quality point. Opinions?
And will the 1:8 twist shoot 62gr ammo ok? How about 55gr?

I cannot vouch for that exact upper, but I have two RRA uppers that are very impressive. The first is a 20" SS Wilson barrel that I use for 3-gun. With good ammo it shoots 0.5 MOA. The second upper is my NRA Service Rifle upper (also a SS Wilson barrel), and I've never had it scoped, but it seems like a sub 0.5 MOA gun. I've never had problems with either of these uppers, but be aware that (I think) the bolts are not MPI. Overall I think RRA uppers provide a lot of bang for your buck.

I dont know if this would work for for your build but I have a barrel I pulled recently that might interest you. It's a 20" RRA predator bull barrel with gas tube, free float tube and railed gas block. It's got about 450 rounds through it and it's been a solid .5 to 3/4 MOA shooter with match grade ammo (as long as I was having a good shooting day). I pulled it off when I bought a 6.5 Grendel upper to be my precision rig so I put a 14.5" barrel on that upper receiver. It's just sitting here so I could make a good deal on it. All you would néed would be an upper receiver and bcg. PM me if you're interested.

Go and take it bud, I'm not thinking I'm going to get into building uppers any time soon. I'm also looking for more minute of head than one hole at 100 yards. Don't get me wrong, one day after I'm established and I have faith that the world isn't going to get over ran by zombies I'll probably do it. For now, something that can bust clays at 300 with factory 62gr penetrators will make me happy :D

Cool, i'll shoot Wingnut a PM
And i'll try to get some info on that upper for you, the guy who has it is the non-technical sort though, he knows a little but not into the "nuts and bolts" of firearms as it were

chale127 -- we crossed messages with Wingnut - while you posted at 0800 hrs, I was writing and sending a PM at 0804 hrs asking about the RRA upper. You're in by 4 minutes so, if you pass on it let me know.
Wingnut === please see above. I will get it like we talked about if chale127 passes.
What is the key to a great joke?

I have an RRA 24" Varmint SS Upper (not EOP). I haven't fired it much and when I did I was using cheap ammo so my groups showed it. If you don't mind waiting perhaps we could hook up at a range in the middle after the Mayberry match (2/19) and you can try it out with my PRS stock or with your own lower.

I've been thinking of replacing this upper for something suitable for 3-gun but just don't have time or money to do it as yet. If someone could get some use out of this upper I'd be willing to deal.
PM me if interested.

Thanks for letting me know about the BCG. I'll probably pick one of these up shortly depending on the wait for my 1911, then I'll keep the semi auto as a back up and replace it with one of those NiB coated no-fail deals. It's fun working overtime!

Hey Joebob...
I haven't looked at this thread since last week when I posted my response about the barrel I have. I just now realized that it was in your forum. I thought it was just a general inquiry. Sorry man I didn't mean to jack a potential sale, I just wasn't paying attention. :sad20:

This is why I like this forum and why I'll be doing a fair amount of future business through JB...the prices don't hurt either ;)
