For those qualified buyers, I am carrying some of Benchmade's auto knives. Today I recieved one that I just fell in love with. I got my first Infidel in stock, and wow what a knife. Unlike other OTF knives I have handled, the blade to handle ratio is very good. The feel in the hand is nice and the action is great. The blade, like all OTFs does have a very slight movement when locked out, but much less then the others I have seen. This one is the double edged blade and not real practical for daily cutting task, but for a defensive knife it is awsome. MSRP is 450.00, but don't worry LEOs get a good price break.

those infidels are definitely cool knives and I almost bought one, I just liked the super solid lockup of my microtech scarab more. Are you familiar with my knife? If so, how would you compare the two, I'm considering expanding the auto knife collection to 5 blades :party29:

I am some what familiar with the Microtechs, and havr it set up to be able to order them. I just haven't ordered any yet. They make awsome blades for sure. I don't think I have ever had a Scarab in my hand. The Microtechs I have seen up close seem to not have the blade to handle ratio of the Infidel. Too often with OTF knives, due to the working mechanism, the blade is much smaller in comparison to the handle. The Ididel rocks in this area.

The warranty of benchmade and customer service will out class nearly any company.

microtech has a lifetime warranty if your military.

as far as the handle to blade ratio the blade on the scarab is huge and the lockup is solid. Ill take a pic and post it for you

My SOG I dropped strait on to the concrete and f up'ed the tip and after everyday use for two years the clip got a little loose. I called them up and asked how much to fix it and they told nothing just send it in and we will fix it and send it back and that is what they did. Have not had a problem sense, but I will be checking out Mikes knives wish I was a cop so I could get one, but I do want to get a Benchmade.

What does one have to do to become a qualified buyer...and carrier?

That is a better ratio then what I have seen on others. I will probably pick up some Microtechs later, so I will have more choices in OTFs. I like Microtech products, they are quality made. I just have had some issues with customer service in the past. Hopefully that will get better when the dust settles from the latest restructuring of the company. Benchmades warranty was mentioned, and I have to agree they are one of the best in the business there. Don't forget the lifesharp program either. They will clean, service, and sharpen your Benchmade for 5 bucks for as long as you own it. The 5 dollar charge is basically just to cover return shipping.

Military or LEO I believe. Take a look at the assisted opening knives, some of them are as fast or faster than the Auto's.

Current military or LEO to buy, LEO or CCW to carry concealed. Some say EMTs or other first responders can buy and carry, but I have to look in to that a bit. I have some spring assist Benchmades that are awsome fast and easy to deploy, and can be bought by anyone.

That's really nice. I was at a gun show in Florida that was full of auto knives. I got to handle every Microtech and Benchmade auto currently on the market. There is no restriction on autos in Florida, they are considered pocket knives. From what I can gather auto knives aren't illegal to own in MD, just to purchase in state or to carry.

You are right on the money. Florida, along with several other states, have no restrictions on auto knives. MD has no law against ownership, only the sale is prohibited and you can't carry it concealed unless you have a CCW.

Yea the laws are pretty weird here in MD lol. I am neither LE or Mil but its perfectly legal for me to own and collect them and uhhhh **not** frequently carry them ;). I didnt know that some consider EMT's and first responders legal to purchase in MD... I might be in the green to purchase then lol. Yea i would love to get an infidel I just dont have the $$$.

Do you know if I can sell an auto knife to a cop or someone who is qualified? I have a microtech halo II that I would like to sell but im a little haze on the laws and everything.

That is a good question, but as long as the officer is ok with it I would think it would never be questioned.
