I have one. It's my least favorite AK, though it does go bang every time and can hit a man-size target at 100 yards with cheap ammo. However it's rough around the edges, and CAI can turn out some lemons.

My advice would be: try to check it out in person first, as canted sights and magwell fit plague these rifles. You shouldn't pay more than $400 for one of these, especially with the poor Romy wood furniture. There was a group buy going on in another thread, maybe you can opt in...?

The front sight can be slanted to one side.
Mine has no problems, but unfortunately I got it during the Clinton gun ban so it has a single stack magazine well with no bayonet lug:sad20:
It doesn't even have that thing that goes up!

I hope they are ok, I just ordered one from J&G yesterday for $399. Some of the other members did a group buy a few weeks ago and it seems like they were all happy.

We pick up the 9 me bought from JG sales on Saturday. For us the price was right. The guys who opted out of the mag paid $410 OTD and if you kept the mag it was $420 OTD. We received all the goodies like a bayonet with case, sling, oil can....LostSoul and I looked a few of them over personally right as they came in and all were in good shape.

Its depends on how much we like these, but an underfolder buy might be on in a few months.

Something must be in the water, 3 Dundalk guys who want or are getting the same AKs at the same time..

I pick mine up Saturday if either of you want to take a look.

No worries! I didn't mean to make it sound like WASRs were complete POS. Mine has done just about everything I've asked of it short of being a tack driver. Some WASRs are even fairly accurate, the main problem is that quality control varies pretty widely--you never know exactly what you're buying till you get it to the range. But if you pull the short straw and happen to get a bad build, Century will usually take care of you.

It's when you get a big brother to keep it company that you'll start to notice all the rough edges and rattly bits on the Romy... :innocent0

I would like to see check it out but i'm planning on going to the York show on Saturday, Let us know what you think of it. I thought the water here in Dundalk tasted a little diffrent lately. I was following the group buy thread and it sounded like a good deal. York show had lots of Century Arms stuff in Romo and Yuko. Wasn't as high as MD gun show prices, but were a bit high.

We've got these in stock again at The Gun Shop. They go quick though. They jumped up some at my distributor, not sure why. We have one on the shelf right now for $464.

The oen I had (before the kayak accident) worked great. I called it my beater AK. It wasnt pretty but it would do what it was supposed to do.
