I just want to reiterate how much I like Scott of Scott's Gunsmithing.
Here is a guy who really understands what it means to be a part of our community and to just generally treat his customers ethically.
My Bersa .380 was giving me an issue with reassembly. It's a gun I've disassembled and reassembled 100 times and I knew I was doing things by the book. It just wouldn't go back together.
Not wanting to force anything because of the aluminum lower I decided it was worth the trip up to see Scott and see what the deal was. I was prepared to leave it and wait for the repair but Scott said he would take a look at it right then.
After examining it and not seeing anything visually wrong he compared it to one in his case and then put the gun back together, albeit with a little wiggling. He racked the slide a few times and compared the action to the one in his case and then handed it back to me and said to go try it out and that it was probably just a little burr of something in there that got it hung.
Now, he could have taken this $200 gun and taken in the back for a week and done the exact same thing to it and charged me $35-50 and I would have happily paid it. Instead, he did me the favor of checking it out and sending me on my way.
That's the way to do business folks and I will be back to see him in future.
