Check these out, solid damascus steel custom made by "Two Finger Knife". These are similar to antique British knuckles.

It does look too good to be real damascus, but that's just because the guys at "Two Finger Knife Co." are great at what they do. It's 3/8" thick solid damascus steel made especially for this piece and has been soaked in acid to really bring out the pattern.
You can sort of see all the layers on the blade. Two Finger Knife is one of the largest makers of custom damascus steel in America - you design what you want, they make it for you. They also have a large selection of blade blanks on ebay.
Their website is http://www.twofingerknife.net

Hm, impressive. That looks like it'd be a difficult design to make a damascus blade, which is a difficult process as it is!

Finally got around to making a video of this beautiful piece.
I designed it after a custom WWI British knuckle/trench knife.
Enjoy!

I think they were a little over $100, but to me they're priceless.
The maker is Swordman39 on ebay.

Thanks. That price is not as bad as I thought it would be.

Their prices are so good because they make and shape all their own damascus steel so there's no middle man to deal with.
You can design anything you want and send them a full size pattern of it and they can make it for you.

We have to understand that true damascus is not and has not (for centuries) been manufactured. Processes today imitate the aesthetics of true damascus (wootz steel).

Looks sweet Weapons collector, good to know about those blanks. I've built a couple kits, did my first grind on my last project(10" bowie), and unless I spend a ton in better equipment, that will be the only blade I'll grind. I haven't taken on a blade project in a couple years, and being I got decent results for the bit of handle/pommel/bolster work I've tried, and the blade is already done, I'll have to try one of their ground blanks out.

I see there's a difference, but everyone still calls layered steel damascus no matter how it's made and I really don't have a problem with that.

They make some really nice blanks and will even make your very own design for about the same price as their regular blanks, plus adding a handle to the blank would be a great project and shouldn't be too difficult. I've done it and was very pleased with the result. Fun thing is you can use anything you want for a handle. I used deer antler for the one I finished.
