Hello There,
Just thought I should introduce myself. I have never shot in MD, as I detest the gun laws and crap in this state. Even though I do live in MD, I shoot in VA. Used to go to the NRA range, but now I go to Silver Eagle Group. Started shooting on our family farm in Nebraska when I was about 5. My eldest brother is a gun enthusiast, and is the one who has taught me what I know and helps perfect my skills. A friend of mine turned me onto here, and I like what I see thus far. Anywho, Hi!

welcome! Don't mind the weirdos, they are harmless.

You're the second person here to talk about the Silver Eagle Group. Do you have a membership, or do you do the walk-in thing? I am considering it as an alternative to the always-crowded NRA HQ Range.

Welcome. Speaking of MD gun laws, when you have a C&R FFL it makes some of them easier to deal with.

There are a few options for SEG. You can do a daily pass (a day pass, does not give range access for the entire day mind you, it's only for a few hours), which is just a walk-in, pay about 24 bucks and go. You can have an annual pass, which pays for itself if you go often. And a lifetime pass, which gets you a lot of fun things and access to a lot of special amenities but is quite pricey. Check out their website http://silvereagle-group.com/ to get some more info.

It has some good and not so good qualities.
Good:
Even when it's crowded on a weekend, still places to shoot.
If they like you, and you are not an imbecile, you can stay longer than others (a few hours).
Huge facility, brand new, large selection of rentals and retail, and nice seating area IF you have to wait.
Hours are good, location is easy to get to in my view.
BAD/ Not so bad:
No test, no nothing is required to go there....that of course means there are a LOT of reckless, dumb, young, oblivious, etc. Initially it is aggravating and you want to deck each one, but eventually...it becomes quite amusing, and a lot of good stories come out of it.

I highly recommend SEG, just don't get too many people in love with it, cause then it will be crowded, and I will have to wait to shoot. Give it a shot, and let me know what you think of it.

I will shoot anything to be honest. I'm never done learning the workings of a new gun. My brother has quite the collection, so just through his collection I have shot well over 2 dozen recently. My favorites as of this week are modified AR-15s, Kahr, and 1911. Inherited a rough Rossi Revolver a year or two ago. As I said, I'll shoot anything. I really enjoy the sport of it, and of course the protection, but it's a lovely hobby.

What's funny about that is that I've moved around a LOT as a child. Lived in NE and CO. Colorado, I was in Denver, the Springs, and went to University in Fort Collins. So....It's hard for me to pick a side to be on...Just call me Neutral.

What's holding you back? the longest regular wait has been like 15minutes and the Membership prices are cheap for unlimited range time.
3 indoor ranges: 1x 50yd, 2x 25yd (one 25yd is fully tactical with running man targets and all if you wanted to rent an entire range $300/hour)
:bullhorn:Memberships:$100 initiation fee, $35/month for an individual, or $45/month for two family members. If you're active or retired military or law enforcement (with proof) the initiation fee is waived. (or just $25/hour)
Let me know if you have any questions about it... :secret:
