Bad service or typical practice?

I bought a pistol on feb 6 2009. I called on feb 14 2009 to see if i could pick it up. After being put on hold for 5 min, I was told it would be ready on tues feb 17 2009. I asked why and was not giving an answer just that it would be ready on tues. The pistol was in stock when i bought it. Is this typical.

Some dealers abide by the letter of the law which allows them to release the firearm after the required time has elapsed, regardless of the MSP returning the paperwork.

Other dealers will not release the firearm until the paperwork is returned, regardless of the duration.

MSP is backed up right now with all of the paperwork coming through their office since the election.

Just as Norton mentioned, to the letter of the law you may have to wait the full waiting period (buisness days). I know how you feel, every time i buy a new regualted gun i cant wait till the day i can pick her up.Welcome to the boards.

Only exception is if your buy a lot of guns from that FFL and MD Collector Status otherwise gonna have to wait. You're problem is you have 2 weekend and a holiday in there as well as the backlog at MSP FRD....bummer:sad20:

If its a transfer through MSP, they will tell you you can transfer on the 8th day even if you don't receive the paperwork but its still up to the seller.
